The 5th grade class enjoyed having a new class visitor this week of the reptilian sort!
What started as a simple recess discovery turned into a fun learning experience throughout the week.
Here are a few things one 5th grader learned:
It's an Eastern Box Turtle that is an omnivore (it eats bugs, fish and frogs).
It has a life span of 25-30 years.
It roams about 1 square mile its entire life.
"This Box Turtle can climb, walk fast and overall, was capable of doing more than I thought."
Mr. Montoya and his students released the turtle back into its natural habitat.
