Pre-K Tuition Cost
There are several options available for our pre-k students. All children must be potty-trained prior to the first day of school.

Scholarship funds are not typically available for the pre-k students. However, we offer the same discounts for eligible families as the upper grades. We still encourage all families to complete a financial need application. Scholarship funds will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our teaching schedule lays down concepts in the morning, therefore, all students have a morning option. Teachers will lay down learning concepts on M-W-F mornings. Core concepts will be laid down on M-W-F. For the part-time students not in the classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the teacher will reinforce what was previously taught that week. We will send home items that you can reinforce with your child at home. ​
Full-Time (M-F w/before and after care) 7:00 am to 6:00 pm: $1,825 per month
Full-Time (M-F) 8:00 am to 2:45 pm: $1,350 per month
Part-Time (M-F) 8:00 am to 12:30 pm: $1,150 per month​
Part-Time (M-W-F) 8:00 am to 2:45 pm: $850 per month
Part-Time (M-W-F) 8:00 am to 12:30 pm: $750 per month

Variable Tuition Cost for K-8th Grade
For the 2025-26 academic year, SCS has adopted a Variable Tuition model to better reflect the actual value of attending SCS while still maintaining affordability for families seeking a Christ-centered education.

Variable tuition is a need-based, tuition assistance program similar to those used by many private schools, colleges, and universities. This model allows families to apply for reduced tuition that is right for their financial situation. Any family in need of financial aid is encouraged to apply!

Tuition rates for K-8th Grade begin at $13,500 for the 2025-2026 academic year. The majority of our students receive some sort of discount and/or financial aid. We strongly encourage all of our incoming families to complete a financial aid package along with their application. We will respond to you with discount and scholarship options to meet your family's needs.

Financial Aid Process
Interested families may apply for financial assistance through our third-party platform, FACTS. Please note that FACTS will charge a $45 fee per family when submitting the request. It is best to proceed with the student admission application first, then apply for financial aid. (The Financial Aid link is located at the top of the "Apply" page.)
Additional Discounts
Families who do not plan to apply for reduced tuition may still request these discounts below if applicable to your family or situation:

Teachers: Full-time teachers of SCS may receive 30% off the cost of student tuition.

Pastor Discount: Full-time pastors may receive 25% off the cost of student tuition.

Active U.S. Military and full-time First Responders (Fire, Police, Rescue) receive 10% off of student tuition.

Multi-Child Families. There is a 10% multi-child discount. The first student pays full price and subsequent enrolled siblings receive 10% off of tuition.​

​​Early Full Payment Discount. Families receive 5% off tuition *on top of these other discounts* if the full tuition payment is received by July 5.​

VEISTC Program
Shepherd Christian School is one of only a few qualified schools in our area that has membership with the Virginia Education Improvement Scholarship Tax Credits Program. This program offers support for low and middle-income families to send their children to a school of their choice using private scholarships from scholarship foundations! Recipients must meet specific income guidelines established by the state. Students must also meet other eligibility requirements based on Virginia residency, age, prior public school attendance, and/or prior receipt of a VEISTC scholarship. Payments and Schedule
Tuition payments are made on a 10-month schedule beginning in July. However, at the time of acceptance, an enrollment deposit of 10% of the cost of tuition/child will be required to hold your child’s spot. (This deposit will be applied to the overall tuition balance.) A $120 non-refundable fee is required when submitting an application online for a new student.​​​​
