Announcing Shepherd Christian School's New Math Teacher

We are thrilled to announce Diane Lane as Shepherd Christian School’s distinguished Middle School Math Teacher! With well over 30 years of experience, Diane has taught and tutored all math subjects from general Math to AP Calculus. She has taught at several Fairfax County schools with the bulk of her time spent at Chantilly High School (also as the Mathematics Department Chair) and Westfield High.

Additionally, Diane has mentored younger teachers in trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, and developed curriculum for those subjects for ESL and gifted students. She has taught classes for other teachers to learn how to teach calculus and worked cooperatively with the Reading and English Departments to better prepare students for their national exams.

Over the years, Diane has served on numerous committees, sponsored math teams competing at national levels, and she has received various awards, including being honored as the Governor of Virginia’s Outstanding Educator, twice!

Diane received her BS in Mathematics and Education from Madison College where she graduated with honors and has received 30+ graduate credits from UVA, Virginia Tech, University of South Carolina, and GMU.

An active member of Shepherd Gate Church, Mrs. Lane is most excited to invest her time at Shepherd Christian School, preparing our middle schoolers for high school math and so much more!
